The future of Cliff Bay and Muskoka Bay matters to our community, and local voices deserve to be heard. Tuesday July 14 at 7pm, at the Terry Fox Auditorium – Gravenhurst Centennial Centre.
Matt Richter has invited Mike Schreiner, MPP and Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, to join him for a community town hall focused on listening to year round and seasonal residents’ perspectives on the proposed Cliff Bay development and the draft Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO).
The proposal includes more than 1,200 residential units, buildings up to six storeys, over-water restaurants and villas, a 260-foot pier, additional docks, and the sale of lake bed to the developer. The requested MZO overrides parts of the normal local planning process, raising important questions about community input, environmental stewardship, and the future of Muskoka Bay.
This is an opportunity for residents to share thoughts, ask questions, and discuss what they believe the future of Cliff Bay should look like. Whether you’re supportive, opposed, or still gathering information, your perspective is valuable.
Together, let’s have an open, respectful conversation about one of the most significant development proposals facing our community.
This isn’t about stopping development, it’s about protecting local decision-making and ensuring our community has a real voice, not a provincially imposed MZO. When Queen’s Park overrides local planning, every community should pay attention.
