Feb 12, 2025 — Mike Schreiner shared our 2025 Election Platform alongside our Deputy Leaders Aislinn Clancy, Matt Richter, and an incredible group of our candidates from across the province. Here are some of the highlights:
• We’ll end Ontario’s housing crisis by building 2 million more homes. We’ll also make it easier for young Ontarians to finally buy their first home by removing unnecessary fees and taxes on homes within urban boundaries.
• Protect the places we love. We’ll build more homes inside existing urban boundaries to avoid urban sprawl, we’ll create new jobs and phase out fossil fuels by moving towards a clean energy economy, and we’ll strengthen like the Endangered Species Act and protect forests, wetlands, and peatlands.
• We’ll invest in our health care system by hiring 3,500 more doctors so everyone has a primary care giver within 3-4 years. We’ll invest in mental health and addictions care, close the rural health care gap by increasing provincial funding for rural hospitals, and stop the privatization of our health care system.
• We’ll take immediate action to lower the cost of living for everyday Ontarians. We’ll introduce strict anti-gouging and collusion laws to stop grocery corporations from gouging people on their grocery bills. We’ll increase the minimum wage to help workers, and we’ll cut taxes for people making under $65K.
• We’ll look out for future generations by hiring more teachers and educational assistants to reduce class sizes, increase funding for long overdue school repairs, and invest in special education programs and mental health supports for students and teachers.
• We’ll protect Ontario’s economy from tariff threats by making it more self-sufficient. We’ll invest in our food and farming sector, protect the land that feeds us from land speculators, implement a buy Ontario strategy to support local farmers and small business owners, and create more jobs in the clean energy economy.
