January 29, 2025 – We knew this day would come, but I still get excited about it. Yesterday, Doug Ford and Graydon Smith called an early election – nearly 15 months ahead of schedule. One can only assume they were hoping to catch the other parties off guard to try to gain more power.
But, I have some good news: we’re ready.
Ready to campaign, ready to stand up for your issues, and ready to win!
What’s one reason I know Parry Sound – Muskoka is ready? Today a tireless group of volunteers put out almost 1000 signs on your neighbour’s lawns and in their windows. Driving around, you will see a Green wave that will be impossible to miss.
If you’ve contributed before, you are now able to do so again. If you are chipping in for the first time, we’d be honoured to have your support:
I know we’re all motivated by the number of lawn signs, but there’s another reason I’m sharing that number. It’s because it represents trust, and an openness to publicly show that trust. You are placing your vote and your trust in me, so that I can then be your independent voice at Queen’s Park.
It’s a responsibility I take seriously.
For some, the election started yesterday, but can I let you in on something? This election has been 17 years in the making. That’s how long I have been committed to fighting for Parry Sound – Muskoka. And if we’re truthful with ourselves, it started many years ago, when the first communities in Ontario put their trust in Green MPP Mike Schreiner.
I hope to be able to continue that work that’s already started.
I’m ready to go on Day One. Ready to deliver my plan for Parry Sound – Muskoka.
And ready to be an independent voice, for you, at Queen’s Park!
Let’s finish what we started,
Matt Richter
Deputy Leader, Ontario Green Party
Candidate, Parry Sound – Muskoka 2025
