Richter kicks off the new year with 5 town Super Saturday Canvass, Breaks Fundraising Record

BRACEBRIDGE, Ontario: Matt Richter’s campaign kicked off the new year with over 50 volunteers in 5 centres around the riding. While the temperatures dipped below -10C, the cold weather couldn’t deter the committed volunteers from engaging their neighbours.

The 59 volunteers knocked on doors and made calls in Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, Dwight, Burk’s Falls and Bracebridge, reaching 6000 voters across the riding in a single day.

“People are at the centre of this campaign. After nearly 7 years of this conservative government ignoring their needs, people are excited to have a candidate come and listen directly to their concerns.’ says Richter.

“Healthcare is the number one concern and we hear it all across the riding. It’s not just the slow progress on the new Muskoka hospitals – we know that healthcare starts with the workers, and people all across our riding are struggling to access the healthcare they need due to the chronic underfunding of our healthcare system by consecutive governments”

This event comes on the heels of an extraordinary end-of-year fundraising milestone. The Richter campaign raised an unprecedented $53,000 in its final push for 2024—a figure that shattered previous end-of-year records by $13,000. This overwhelming show of support underscores the enthusiasm for Matt Richter’s vision and leadership in the community.

“Our fundraising numbers speak for themselves, as do our volunteer numbers” said Maureen Balsillie, Richter’s Campaign Manager. “After coming so close in 2022, the people of Parry Sound – Muskoka know that Matt can win and are ready to put their time, talent and treasure towards electing an MPP who truly represents them.”

“It’s incredibly exciting to see this level of support so early,” says Richter. “No matter when Doug Ford decides to call the election, we will be ready to win.’
