Exciting News! Mike is coming to Bracebridge

Two special events, one evening — Monday Feb. 5th

Part 1: Roundtable discussion  4:45 – 5:45 p.m.
Mike Schreiner and the Ontario Greens are bringing an important housing announcement to town. The Homes You Can Afford in Neighbourhoods You Love Act is a piece of the housing solutions puzzle needed to legalize different types of housing (think fourplexes and 4 stories). This new policy will make it easier for municipalities to create affordable housing.
Mike Schreiner, Ontario Green Party Leader, and past candidate, Matt Richter, will host a roundtable discussion of this policy with invited elected officials, housing advocates, stakeholders and local builders. Participants will share what’s working, what’s not and how this policy change would lead to more attainable housing for young families and people who would like to work in Parry Sound-Muskoka but can’t afford to live here.
Are you deeply connected to this issue? Email parrysoundmuskoka@gpo.ca for an invitation to meet with Mike, share your experiences and learn more about the Green plan to solve our housing crisis.

Part 2: Town Hall and Reception  6:00 pm – 7:00 p.m
Join a Q&A on housing solutions with Mike Schreiner and Matt Richter.  Be there to celebrate big news Mike is bringing to town!  Light refreshments, tea and coffee will be served.
As space will be limited, please RSVP to save your place.
Both events will be hosted at Browning Hall, St. Thomas Anglican Church, 4 Mary St., Bracebridge

We Did It!   Double your Impact Fundraising Campaign

A BIG Thank YOU goes out to our “seed” donors who pledged $11,545 for every dollar we raised from November to the end of the year.  And a BIG Thank YOU to those who donated to the Double Your Impact Campaign, so we could not only match, but exceed all of the $11,545 pledged.  This means we were able to raise over $25,000, which is a great addition to the Road to 2026 Election Campaign Fund! Thank you to ALL our Donors!

Heat, Eat, Grow, Go – Local Solutions to the Climate Crisis

The PSM Greens are sponsoring a non-partisan community wide climate symposium. Save the Date (April 20th) and hear both local experts and your friends and neighbours share personal experiences on our journey to protect our children’s future and our home. The event will be held at the Active Living Centre in Huntsville from 1:30 pm – 4 pm on Saturday, April 20.   Everyone is welcome!

Youth Engagement

Interested in joining a group of young people who share Green values? Or know anyone who would be interested?  Please contact Brenda Wainman, brendawainman@gpo.ca, our Youth Lead.
Brenda’s goal is to initiate youth outreach in order to garner awareness, engagement and connection. This new feature of our newsletters will begin by highlighting stories about environmentally aware youth within our riding. This month we begin with the inspiring story of Colleen Staples, titled “A True Keener – A First Foray on the Campaign Trail with Aislinn Youth: Environment and Engagement”.
